It’s been almost a decade since her father was deported from the United States, but she never understood his absence and refused to give up on the possibility of a reunion.

This little girl lived in the United States with her caregivers, but she was left completely alone nine years ago. From then on, a long journey of sadness and hard work began.

Miraculously, his destiny has taken an unexpected turn.

This adult dog survived on the few scraps she scrounged up on the street and had made an old warehouse her home and a dumpster her roof.

Hope For Paws volunteers noticed their presence after participating in the rescue of some kittens and, as expected, decided to intervene. 

The bold girl was a little afraid of the help.

At first, they didn’t know his story, but his advanced age was evident, and the poor creature was blind in one eye.

According to what they were able to find out from local residents, the dog belonged to a family that lived nearby and had been deported.

As if that pain weren’t enough, an irresponsible driver had run over her some time later, leaving her to her fate without answering for her injuries.

She had to recover from that accident alone, without medical attention, and that was when she lost her right eye.

With such a past, his distrust was evident and his rescue required time and patience.

However, the furry one finally gave in and animal rights activists were able to remove her from the container to which she had been clinging for years.

Once in the hands of rescuers, this little girl, named Pheenie , received the care she hadn’t received in years. A good bath, food, and a medical visit were the furry friend’s first experiences after her rescuers took her to another shelter called Animal Rescue Los Angeles.

Now he sleeps in a real bed.

Once the specialist checked her out, her rescuers knew her problems went beyond her little eye.

Pheenie suffered from broken and rotten teeth, a urinary tract infection, and discospondylitis, an inflammatory condition in the spine that is usually caused by a bacterial infection.

But despite her condition, the elderly dog ​​showed strength and a desire to continue her life.

In the days following her rescue, she was surrounded by the love of her rescuers and made canine friends at the shelter. But although everything seemed to be going wonderfully, her difficult past took its toll, leaving everyone who had been so committed to her rescue and recovery devastated.

Five months later, her body couldn’t take it anymore, and she left this world beside a fireplace. Her little eyes dimmed with the hope of seeing the human family from whom she had been separated again.
